Welcome @Klara! If you’ve made a collar already then it’s too late to wonder whether you want to be a leather worker - you are one! Post some pictures and ask away.

Value of sewing machines my Dad used
Retswerb replied to Kezzabell's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Sorry for your loss. It’s never easy to lose someone you love, and in many cases it’s also a lot of work. Regarding the machines, some more information would probably go a long way toward folks being able to give you some advice here. Any chance you can upload pictures of the machines in question? -
Ooh, that black on black is sharp. Nice work!

Dog collar bling: spots or rivets?
Retswerb replied to ButtonLady's topic in Collars, Cuffs, Leashes and Leads
Yes, if you look closely at some of the pics on that link you can see on the edge of the collar that it’s a thin outer layer attached to a thicker inner layer. Must be glued. -
Mother & Daughter Totes
Retswerb replied to stormcrow's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Those look excellent! I’d love to see the two together for scale. -
Dog collar bling: spots or rivets?
Retswerb replied to ButtonLady's topic in Collars, Cuffs, Leashes and Leads
I would think the two pronged spots would be much more likely to come off, especially if the dog scratches at the collar at all. -
A tight and durable seam on an 8oz veg tan quiver?
Retswerb replied to SeyR's topic in How Do I Do That?
You handled that stitch very nicely. Did you end up reinforcing it on the inside? -
@Rahere, I have no idea what you responded to here but unless something has already been moderated out I have no clue what you’re on about. Settle down.

Sounds like a pull tab wallet would be just the thing for assisting with getting cards out of slots. Not sure what can be done to make it easier to slip in and out of a pocket other than to make sure the exterior has a nice smooth finish. Let us know what else you come up with!

Wow, even shipping is free on this one! My order is in as well, looking forward to checking it out. Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks @Danne! I googled meisi thread and ended up on threadsofmeisi.com which appears completely different.

If you’re saying they’re damaged and she’s asking you to open the bottles to verify before returning them, that seems reasonable to me. Maybe I’m missing something here.
-
Do you have a link for this? I went on their website and didn’t find any reference to a sample pack.

When viewing images from the gallery, some users’ images are throwing an error asking for admincp to be run. Doesn’t affect all gallery images, just ones from certain users. Screenshot below. If admins can’t replicate let me know and I can gather a little more info. Tagging @Johanna here as this appears to be a site admin issue rather than just something a mod can fix.

87% 5 star reviews, that’s solid.

I’ve used rit for fabric, never tried it for anything else. Always used the liquid as it seemed easier and less mess but if you decide to do the quills I imagine the powder could be made stronger, almost a paste if you really needed it concentrated.

The LEDs are an awesome touch. Killer bag, nice work.

Stamped Biker wallet
Retswerb replied to Frodo's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Functional and looks good too. I’d be inclined to add a couple of stitching lines on the card side to keep the cards separated and organized. Here’s to keeping bikes upright! -
Welcome to the forum @Lexy! As Rahere said already, most chrome-tanned leathers don’t need much in the way of top coat. What sorts of projects are you working on? Maybe post a pic or two of the leather you have available to you there and folks here can give some more advice.

Suede lined face mask - yea or nay? will it color my face?

Oh, that’s a winner. Nice job! -
Suede lined face mask - yea or nay? will it color my face?
Retswerb replied to swhoelefp69's topic in How Do I Do That?
Does the liner have to be black? Make it from a lighter color, keep it hidden on the inside, and don’t worry about color transfer. -
They’re beauties, Toxo! Time to start a new batch.
