I've found lifting the leather off the work surface makes it very easy to cut, i draw the lines pattern then as much as possible i hold the leather up off the table with one hand and cut.

i agree they need some refining. They look to perfect or computer generated to me maybe its the flat edges lol. Do you or can you do logos? I'm interested in one. -

i think anything you do will only make it worse. But look at it this way your sap would have darkened naturally anyway.

usps sucks!!!! if i mail a letter to an address across my 8000 population town it goes 120 miles to Cheyenne and then back. ten year ago they sorted in town now its all done in Cheyenne .

i feel your pain friend fedex does that to me all the time. goes right thru town on I 80 to salt lake then back again to Casper then back here. friggin nuts!!!

you could use two pieces of wood slightly shorter than your belt thickness, what ever length you can manage and a couple small clamps. if its shorter than your belt do a section then slide your belt through. how long is a full length belt? i'm doing a 64" right now. i use my lathe burnisher for smaller stuff lol.

Darn good tooling you did an amazing job its very nice work i cant do letters lol. On your question a welt in a knife sheath is to protect the stitching it doesn't have to be an inch thick to fit the guard that's not what its intended purpose is but like all things hand made you can make it as thick as you want and i wont tell you your wrong by doing so. I make my welts the blade thickness at the most. Now on holsters i make a short tapered welt ,sometimes, because a revolver cylinder is much wider than the barrel but even those aren't an inch thick.
