you can go cheap and make your self a few background tools pretty easy if your handy. stainless bolts, a file or two and a drill made these. i also made my lifters and modeling tool from stainless allthread a couple brass nuts and something for a handle i used leather washers .

That rocks my friend. did you tool it flat then form it ? the work is very crisp.

those are really nice! i too like the shapes. for a more three dimensional look bevel deeper, add some background then use a modeling tool to add shape to the image and a lifter to add depth in places like the wolfs mouth,

Thats why i haven't trimmed the main roller shaft yet lol. was actually thinking about a hand crank. it would be easy to power it I have a one stall garage lol, i spend most of my time moving the few tools i have back and forth lol, wood working, knife making, welding and auto repair take turns. I'm afraid at my age a lathe and mill are just dreams for me, but i can do some small stuff on my wood lathe, made ferules out of 45 shells the other day for some hand tools.

that is one of the coolest and well thought out projects in along time. And that has to be some hard work using that scythe.

we were given a bushel of jalapenos peppers the other day . I now have about 50 quarts of pickled jalapenos half regular pickle half bread and butter pickle thanks to my awesome wife and kids, two days of work but a few years of good eats lol !! waste not want not.

Thank you, I hear that! I think its human nature to want to create. I come from a family that has always made /built /created in some form. Mom an excellent seamstress, dad a mechanic always with more time than money lol always enforced our creative nature. i cant afford a quality built one and wont buy a chinamo brand piece of junk that i would have to re build anyway lol. A lathe and mill would be friggin awesome!!!!!!!

I used to love the water sports lol had an old town canoe and a nice kayak. Before that our high school fun was inner tubing on the river with a cooler full o suds . Now they arrest kids for having that type of good old fashioned enjoyment.

Thank you. the two long bolts are for height /thickness. the two bolts on the back are for setting the blade fore or aft of top center via the angle piece, it sets behind the blade. the two pairs on top hold the top plate and blade in place they aren't in slots in the top plate it is for holding the blade in place the blade is slotted underneath to allow for adjustment fore and aft. Under the roller shaft are two more bolts with springs under them in holes in the wood they add tension upward to the roller they also have a nut on each so the tension is adjustable also. I'll see what i can do lol.

dang that does sound fun i woulda jumped on it back in the day lol. I chose a kayak for my death defying water stunts back in the day. class 5 rapids are a kick You can eddy out then run back up into a rapid pointing upstream and surf them the same way. then paddle hard up stream and the water will stand your kayak straight up on end spin you around and spit you back out.

the creeps here wont let you recycle. i have plenty rr spikes lol, You need to look for old treadmills they have heavy duty variable speed motors and electronics in those babies.
