  1. Looks pretty good. I love my 43. Maybe not as much as my 19. It's a easy gun to stash when you mainly wear T shirts. Can we see the back and such? Nice molding work.
  2. Also can you make the liner just short of the holes? Then you don't have to worry about the extra thickness or if the liner will burnish.
  3. Haha just wish there were more to choose from.
  4. Well I got it up and running. Replaced the wood screw with a leather "nut" with a carriage bolt and a bushing. Epoxy and brass wood screws on the thingy that locks the jaws closed. New strap and buckle. And some crappy padding to pad my boney butt.lol Its a little different stitching at an angle but doesn't seem to affect the look of my stitches. And it's nice that the thread never catches on anything.
  5. I've done the same with a couple orders off my Etsy. They didn't put the initials on the order so I remade and shipped at my expense. Oddly neither one even said thank you. So now if ANY part is missing from order form I get back to them. Like if no initials or name stamp indicated I make them put no initials or name stamp on the form.
  6. My wife is left handed. After not being able to hit a barn from the inside of it I told her to try right handed. She found out she is left eye right handed shooter. In a call back to another thread cut a piece backwards so now I have a LH G43 holster and mag carrier on my Etsy. Lol
  7. To late! I already wrote it down mu-woo-wha. (Dr Evil laugh) lol
  8. Yep. Dye,stamp, tool whatever you are gonna do to the belt first. Then glue the back layer on. Up to where the belt slot is punched. Then you don't have to skive the turn back. If you don't dye the back side and just topcoat it you don't have to worry about any dye transfer/ruboff. Also punch the holes last. Then you get nice clean back side.
  9. I put the pocket on backwards on a note book cover yesterday. So now it's for lefties.lol Good thing my wife is one.
  10. Are the scraps and sheath from the same piece of leather? All leather takes dye differently. More coats of dye = darker dye.
  11. Google image and print one off. Then you can scale it to size you need.
  12. Never punch holes before anything. It's the last step for me before sewing and then last step is edges. Why do you want to punch holes first?
  13. I use the same steps. I dye and finish all pieces before sewing. I use different colored thread for contrast. Also I primarily airbrush my dye on. Only people I know that dye after sewing are ones who dip dye. Does all that make sense? I does in my head.lol
  14. That's the big point. Modify to your needs.
  15. Thanks. I made this one for the same person. She was killed in a car crash right after New Years. I hope she enjoyed them.
  16. Oddly enough Tandy's Multi Strap end punch will work perfectly for that.lol Each their own I say. There are no "rules" in some areas.
  17. You can do the same with the "fancy" or shotgun shell snaps too.
  18. Ian Atkinson has a video on YouTube. Look up Leodis Leather.
  19. I use a stitching pony for everything. Some times I use othe clamps just to hold it to the pony if It won't fit in the pony. I need to have 2 hands free to stitch. Use your imagination find what works for you.
  20. Yep it's fine to post your videos. Might want to work on getting your stitch line straighter. I prefer wing divider to mark the stitch line. Looks like a soft-ish leather which can make it hard sometimes. You can get a better burnish if you wet the edge after sanding it. Also get a poly or dead blow to hit your chisels. You are going to mash them or chip them. Steel on steel not good.
  21. Look like you could make it a weave style like cartridge loops. That's just a guess though.
