  1. Hey Guys and Gals! I recently acquired a Randall lock stitch machine. After setting it up, I started running test pieces. It would sew a few inches, and the thread would break. I would rethread it and go again. Now, it will run a few inches, thread will break, and bend the needle out towards me. In the picture, I’ve put an arrow to where the thread is breaking. It’s after the second brake. What can I do to fix this issue?
  2. PM sent. Thank you so much!!!
  3. Ok. I cleaned the thread path. I’m using thread lub by Fiebing’s in the wax pot. It is sewing better now. Just got to get the guides by the brakes set correctly. Thread wants to come outside of one.
  4. I do not have a manual. I’m completely new to the sewing machine scene. So with that being said, how would I adjust the takeup? The stitches look really great before the thread breaks and the needle bends outwards.
  5. I just recently bought out a complete leather shop contents. With all the items, I got this Randall Lockstitch machine. I have it back on its base now and it sews beautifully when the tread doesn't knot up in the breaks. Can anyone tell me what I need to use in the wax pot to lube the thread? Also, is there a place I can download a manual for this machine? Thanks!!
  6. Tooled Gun Rig

That's right up my alley! Awesome work!!!
  7. I have the JLS Leather pattern for the Glock 19, 23, 32. I recently have been called upon to make a holster for a Glock 22. I noticed on JLS's website the pattern is now listed as 17, 22, 31, 19, 23, 32. Are these pistols all the same size or is there a size/length option on the "new" pattern? Jeff, can you help a brother out?? Thanks!!
  8. Awesome! Thanks for the info guys! @JLS- Thanks man!!
  9. Made myself a new holster for my Taurus PT92. I followed JLS's how to on laying out a 50/50 pancake. I'm happy with it. What do y'all think?
  10. Thanks! If your left side of brain controls your right side, and the right side controls the left, aren't left handed people the only ones in their right mind? Anyway, the texture on the sides was a pebble texture tool set I have. It leaves a texture a lot like stingray hide.
  11. That looks GREAT!!! Congrats!!
  12. Choice Of Awl...

I've recently have wanted to start sewing thicker leather in my projects. Up til now, my prong chisels have been able to go all the way through. Now, I'm wanting to thicker leathers in the welts on holsters and sheaths. Not wanting to go the drill press way, I started looking at awls. I'm over whelmed by the amount of choices. Can someone help me choose the awl haft and blade I need to do these projects. I've looked at CS Osborne but am lost on what I'm looking for?? Thanks in advance! Jp
